Zheng He’s Voyages to the Malacca

In the 15th century, during the prosperous Yongle Era of the Ming Dynasty, Zheng He led the world’s largest ocean-going fleet of his age to launch seven unprecedented voyages to the Western Oceans. The Malacca Strait served as a critical strategic hub along his maritime route.

Zheng He anchored his fleets in Malacca multiple times to establish permanent supply depots, forging deep diplomatic ties with the Malacca Sultanate. Silk, porcelain and spices were traded freely here, enabling diverse civilizations to meet and integrate, penning an eternal chapter of peaceful exchange along the Maritime Silk Road.

Filmed from the fleet’s perspective, the Naked-Eye 10D production sets sail from the East, crosses boundless oceans, and glides into Malacca’s harbour.
